Aynor SAE J1939 SIMULATOR

J1939 Network

J1939 Network is part of Aynor SAE J1939 Simulator which monitors CAN bus with J1939 standard communication. It consists of SPN Listener, Diagnostic Listener, Proprietary PGN definition tool and Network members monitor.

SPN Listener

SPN Listener is component that displays all SPN that are present on CAN bus. Received data is displayed in grid, it can be grouped to up to three levels. Data can be filtered, particular parts of component can be switched on/off. Displayed data can change its color scheme, separately for active and not active SPN.

Grouping and filtering

Support for grouping, either built-in and user defined. Enables filtering displayed SPN according to its destination addresses,PGN numbers, activity etc.

Multipacket transport

Supports multipacket PGNs transmitted both in broadcast and connection mode.

DM Listener

Diagnostic Listener

The DM Listener is a component that displays all DTCs from all diagnostic DM1 and DM2 messages that are present on the CAN bus.

Grouping and filtering

Support for grouping, either built-in and user defined. Enables filtering displayed DTC codes according its activity.

DM2 Request

DM Listener allows you to send a request for a diagnostic message DM2 (DM2 REQUEST) to the selected source address, or at global address.

DM2 features

The DM Listener separately displays a list of "zero active faults diagnostic messages" sent by units that do not diagnose any error condition. It also displays a list of NACK (negative acknowledgment) responses to the DM2 REQUEST.

Gauges

The simulator allows you to define up to 20 gauges, which can either display the value of the selected SPN or can display textual information based on a set of user-defined conditions.

List of proprietary PGNs which were already defined.
List of proprietary SPNs that are defined within the selected PGN. Every proprietary PGN contains several proprietary SPNs that describe proprietary data according to the needs of the manufacturer.
For each SPN it is necessary to determine its properties, byte and bit position within its PGN data bytes, properties that are used for encoding/decoding physical value (offset and scale), minimal and maximal value and its unit.
For each PGN it is necessary to determine its main properties, i.e. repetition rate and default priority. For display it is necessary to set PGN acronym and label.
By checking this check box it is possible to switch between decimal/hexadecimal modes while displaying numeric values.
Numeric up/down element that are used to add new proprietary PGN. Radio buttons Proprietary A, Proprietary A2 and Proprietary B determine values that can be set for new PGN.
Numeric up/down element that are used to add new proprietary SPN. Maximum and minimum value are determined according to J1939 standard.
By pressing this button the editor switches to edit mode in which it is possible to change proprietary data set.
By pressing this button all changes are confirmed and applied.
List of source addresses for which is the selected PGN valid. Interpretation of proprietary data varies by manufacturer. The simulator then allows to distinguish PGN definitions according to the source address from which they are transmitted.

Network

Support for Request for address claim

Sends Request for address claim to network to find out connected members.

NAME fields listing

Contains list of manufacturers, lists all fields from SAE J1939 NAME.
